about two point oh therapy

Therapy in New York City

I believe therapy is one of the most underutilized tools for personal growth, and that the relationship between therapist and client is central to progress.

Research consistently identifies the therapeutic alliance as one of the strongest predictors of positive outcomes. I believe in building rapport and relationships strong enough for honesty, challenge, accountability, and real momentum.

I believe therapy is not only for when we are “broken” or in crisis (that’s true sometimes). It’s also to help us feel more present, fulfilled, connected, comfortable and confident even if there’s nothing major that’s “wrong”. It’s a practice that can even be preventative, to equip us with the skills, tools, awareness and support to stay regulated once challenges do arise.

Overheard in my Therapy Room…

“Don’t ‘bullshould’ me.”

“Find the ‘and’, not the ‘or’.”

“Intentionality over Autopilot.”

“Make Your Head a Nice Place to Live.”

I’m a highly trained clinician with a breadth of professional, leadership, and creative experience rarely found in one therapist.

I pair rigorous evidence-based training and leadership education with experience leading an NYC mental health startup as CEO, working across industries, and building an accomplished career as a musician, writer, and performer. This range gives me an unusually nuanced understanding of ambition, pressure, creativity, identity, and change, allowing me to connect quickly, speak each client’s language, and bring an energetic, perceptive, and highly engaged presence to my work.

My Values

    Growth-Oriented

Therapy is absolutely a tool for healing and returning to baseline, but it is also an underleveraged tool for personal growth. My style of therapy keeps the work focused on helping clients continue to evolve and grow – which can be challenging, but makes it feel rewarding and worth it.

    Directness

My therapy style is more active, direct, and engaged, rather than passively holding space. I ask hard questions, call clients out and in, and offer honest, constructive feedback while empowering people to make their own decisions. I always work with compassion, but I’m not afraid to keep it real and push us forward.

    Intention & Individuality

I work with clients to identify the tools, language, routines, relationships, careers, and ways of living that truly work for them, rather than continuing to follow ideas about what they “should” want or who they should be.

2.0 is about
becoming,
not perfecting.

what’s in a name?

It represents your next step, next season, or next version of yourself. Often growth is about doing more or pushing harder. Other times, your level up is about finding more peace (two fingers = peace sign) - rest, calm, balance, or simply a little more room to reflect and breathe.

The “two” also holds meaning because every member of Madeleine’s family has a two in their birthday, which serves as a small reminder of the people who help keep us grounded and growing. It also reflects our central belief that you simply don’t have to do all of the work on your own.
