Insurance & Billing

How does the insurance component work?

We are a private-pay, out-of-network practice that does not accept insurance. We do however, provide monthly superbills that you can easily send to your insurance company for any out-of-network reimbursement you may have.

Many of our clients receive a high reimbursement once their deductible is met. We are happy to help simplify the process and support you along the way!

Therapy Sessions

I’ve done therapy before but eventually it became just venting and I did all the talking. How will this be different?

While you are ultimately in the driver’s seat of this work, Two Point Oh therapy was founded largely to address this commonly reported experience that therapy can become “passive”. We don’t just sit back, scratch our chin and ask, “and how does that make you feel?” We will lead the conversation and direct you when desired, keep the work moving, actively engage with you and make sure you feel that you have tangible takeaways, techniques and strategies to move forward.

How often do we meet?

Research shows that weekly psychotherapy, especially in the beginning while building the relationship and rapport- is most effective. We do however, want to make therapy accessible and are open to discussing biweekly options and other cadences that make the work feasible.

Do you work with college students and young adults?

Yes. We frequently work with young professionals and students adjusting to the challenges of transition and early adulthood.

What modalities do you use in therapy?

We tailor our approach to match each clients’ needs, blending a combination of evidence-based modalities such as psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, positive psychology, mindfulness-based practice, Gottman Method for Couples, structural family therapy, executive education coaching skills, and more.

We always welcome feedback about what style is working and not working for you! For example, some people appreciate “homework” in between sessions and some people detest it. We will tailor our work to what you find valuable and effective.

Why should I engage in therapy when I can leverage AI tools?

AI can be useful for organizing your thoughts and exploring new exercises and perspectives. But therapy offers something more impactful: another human being who can bring clinical expertise, empathy, and intuition to what you’re experiencing, including the emotions, thought loops and patterns that are hard to put into words.

The relationship is part of the work. It gives you space to process, be understood, and develop greater trust in your own judgment. As more of life becomes digital, the ability to understand ourselves and connect with other people matters more than ever.
