Therapy for Singles in
New York Navigating
the Dating Scene

Dating can bring out overthinking and insecurity in just about anyone.

A major part of the work is shifting the focus from “Do they like me?”- aka validation, to “Are they actually a fit for me?”- which is about connection. We work on experiencing the person in front of you with curiosity instead of treating dating like a job interview or test you have to pass.

This is not about following one set of dating rules (often spread by influencers, movies or social media. Ignore them!). We develop personalized strategies around what actually happens for you and why. That may include examining a fear of rejection or confrontation, becoming more direct about what you want, or getting honest about whether someone has the availability and bandwidth to build a relationship that works for you both.

Two things can be true at once.

Single life can be fun and full, and it can still be hard when a relationship is something you deeply want.

The dating apps can feel repetitive, exhausting, and consuming.

It may seem like everyone around you is partnering off while you keep starting over with another match or first date. We work on the stamina to keep going without allowing dating to take over your mood, self-esteem, or hope for finding love. We also work on your energy, and make sure you are showing up intentionally and confidently in dating.

I use many modalities in conjunction with one another for a holistic approach:

Psychodynamic Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Attachment-Informed Relational Work

Positive Psychology–Informed Practices

Mindfulness and Grounding Practices

What does therapy for singles + dating even mean?

This work is for individuals across every stage of dating: healing past wounds that still somehow stem from high school prom rejection, showing up intentionally in dating and finally finding and committing to the relationship that supports your life and overall well-being.

Singles & Active Daters

Navigating dating apps, repeated bad dates, loneliness, or growing hopelessness or sadness about finding someone.

People in Early or Undefined Relationships

Going on multiple dates with someone but struggling to establish commitment or understand where the relationship is going.

People Returning to Dating

Learning to trust themselves and someone new after heartbreak, separation, divorce, or a long period away from dating.

People Repeating the Same Dating Pattern

Pursuing unavailable people, dismissing potential connections, or becoming overly invested before knowing whether someone is a fit.

As an NYC therapist, I have supported so many people through modern dating and single life. I have helped people keep moving when they were ready to delete every app and give up, and I have cheered with them when they told me they found the one. I have also helped people who want a relationship but struggle to put themselves out there, whether that means making a profile, initiating a conversation, or letting someone get close. Together, we have worked through bad dates, texting spirals, confusing situationships, attachment anxiety, and the deep fear that finding the right person may never happen. I know the modern NYC dating landscape through my professional experience and, at one time, my own dating life. I understand how much it can bring up, whether you are dating constantly or struggling to get started.

My background gives this work a specific style. As a former startup consultant and CEO, I bring a direct, strategic approach to solving problems. As a songwriter, recording artist, and performer, I understand how much language matters, including how you talk to yourself. I can help you find the words to express what you want, ask difficult questions, and set boundaries. Together, we will examine how you relate to yourself and others, identify what is and isn’t serving you, and work on what you can actually say and do differently.

My approach to therapy for dating and single life is energetic, personal, and hands-on. We will challenge assumptions, work through disappointment, and help you approach dating with more curiosity, self-trust, and openness to connection. We will take your desire for a relationship seriously while helping you find fulfillment in your life now. That means making room for how much you want this without letting dating determine how you feel about yourself, what you deserve, or how much you have to feel good about in your life.
